Sagrada Familia Experience
TOUR DETAILS
The Sagrada Familia is the jewel of Catalan modernism. Formally known as the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia (‘Basilica of the Holy Family’), Once completed, it will be recognized as the tallest and the most magnificent Roman Catholic minor basilica.
This glorious masterpiece is by Antoni Gaudi, the foremost architect of the Modernist era. It is his most famous work and his most ambitious. Begun in 1882, construction is almost a century and a half. The aim was to finish it in 2026, in time for Gaudi's death centennial. However, due to an emerging legal issue, the completion of the construction will be delayed.
A trip to Barcelona isn't complete without a visit to this UNESCO World Heritage site. On this tour, the awe-inspiring design and architecture are sure to amaze you. It is distinctive of Gaudi's style of taking elements from nature and the Divine.
Our tour begins with the Nativity facade, which faces the rising sun. It depicts Jesus' childhood using symbolism through common characters and animals. Next, we go to the Passion facade, which, in contrast, faces the setting sun. The various art forms here are devoted to Jesus' suffering and crucifixion. Finally, we'll look at the Glory facade. This is Gaudi´s interpretation of the last judgment, hell, and salvation.
